Welcome to the 2016 East Coast 12-Meter National Championship in Oxford, Maryland October 27-29.

Dear Skippers and Friends of the EC12 Class:

The Tred Avon YC and the Oxford RC Fleet are thrilled to be hosting the 46th EC12 Class Championship regatta in Oxford, MD. We welcome you to one of the greatest spots on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay and a venue that is rich in one design and big boat heritage as well as a frequent host of RC championship events in the past ten years.

The sailing venue will be off a wide L shaped floating cement dock, giving us ample space to roam windward leeward close in courses from any angle. I am happy to report that David Brawner will be our PRO and, once again, has assembled a great team of support personnel to make the racing, launching, scoring as fluid and crisp as it can be.

Tred Avon Yacht Club is a perfect host for RC events as we will have a full bar and kitchen to make your relaxing, dining and gathering space all the more festive with the best of new and old friends in the EC12 Class. Activities will begin on Wednesday, October 26th with practice sailing followed by a Welcoming Reception at TAYC. No blazers are required for any event but a collared shirt would be appropriate for Wednesday’s reception and Saturday’s Awards Banquet. You will have two free nights to enjoy neighboring restaurants and we have provided a vast selection in the Venue & Hotels menu tab above. Ask a local and you will get great advice.

There will be a brand new Regatta Hotel, the Fairfield Inn Easton, MD that has offered attractive room rates for us and there are also terrific local bed and breakfast choices, several chain hotels, home rental choices for you to explore. For touring the area, St. Michaels, MD, about 15 minutes away, has wonderful shops in a quaint downtown area as well as the world famous Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, well worth the time to explore while you visit the area. Just a walking tour of Oxford will give you a great feeling of the yachting heritage of our community.

There is a 40 boat entry limit for this regatta. Entries less than 34 will have two fleets.

The menu tabs above will take you to all the information to make your registration, housing, dining and touring plans. We can’t wait for you to get here and hope that we make your visit to the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay a memorable experience both on and off the water.
