Saturday: Cold and clear with the wind out of the west
and used the north shoreline course. Winds were light
morning and building to 12 with gust to 20 mph. This
event ended with further tests of skill in sailing and
tactical knowledge. This was the largest, highly
contested and perseverance was needed everyday. It was a
true National Championship. David Brawner won all the
marbles and got wet at the end. He also was awarded a
Class Life Time Achievement award for service to the
EC12 fleet for his decades of service to the class
through organization and dedicated participation. |

Friday: Overcast and cool from heavy winds out of the
North.
It was B rigs all day with gust to 20 mph with winds
around 12-15 on the course.
One boat was holed, those without smaller rigs could not
sail and attrition brought C (Red) Fleet down from 20 to
11. It was a hard day and mentally exhausting for
everyone. All skills have been needed so far making this
event the largest and true National Championship. |
