Life in the Delta

Most know our Class Secretary spends much of his leisure time on a boat in the Northern California Delta. We've all seen his by-line "On Cloud 9 in the Delta Meadows anchorage".

Fewer know that he has roots to the deep south. We now are learning his roots may be a little more "redneck" than we thought. Little did we know that "Cloud 9" referred to the shape and length of the houseboat!!

Each fall, the boat is moved to winter storage. Everyone is aware of the pains Rick goes thru to get this done. But this year, spy's have provided photos of the process. We can't tell if that is Rick or Merrilee at the helm.

We are told the DYMC Burgee was flying at the top of the genuine oak flagstaff (angles off the transom), but it was cut off by the photographer as he slipped into the canal, snapping the picture.

You'll note the desk on the forecastle, where court is held. Launching EC12's is a little difficult but the view of the windward mark is great.
